My name is Sophie Bell and I am a registered BACP Counsellor and Psychotherapist. I was trained at Leeds Beckett University in Relational and Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy.

I offer weekly in-person sessions to people who are looking for support through talking therapy. Our sessions will be based out of my private room in Michael Robson’s Osteopathy Clinic in Greengates.

My approach to therapy is holistic, collaborative and respectful with a focus on working with you to find the answers you might be looking for and find a new way forward together. I believe that different people need different things and as such I aim to work with you to tailor an approach that suits your needs, circumstances and life experiences. My practice is open to all including those who identify as LGBTQ+ and people from diverse cultural backgrounds.

It might be difficult to believe that talking therapy could work. My experience, both personally and professionally has shown that when people are offered a space in which to openly explore their concerns with compassion and safety they can find profound comfort and healing in this. Talking through your experiences is often the first step towards making them more manageable. Having someone who truly listens join you in a real and in-depth conversation in this way can provide unique insights that help you to develop your self awareness, gain a greater understanding of yourself and potentially explore new ways of being in the world.

If you’ve never been to therapy before, I know that taking that first step and reaching out can be a daunting task. For this reason, I aim to support you as best I can in the process. Many people find it helpful to have an initial discussion either in person or over the phone to see if we would be a good fit to work together. If we decide to go forward, I can support you in exploring what might be concerning you in a way that feels safe to you. I will listen carefully whilst acknowledging that there are no easy answers. Together, we can explore what those answers might be by leaning into your emotions, understanding your values, finding meaning and recognising patterns that may no longer serve you, and the ones that do.

Giving yourself this space and time to be heard can help you to feel valued, think more clearly, strengthen your sense of self and find more fulfilment in your life.

Finding a therapist that you feel comfortable with is an important part of your journey and as such I invite you to explore my website and consider if my therapy services might be the help you need. For more information you can visit my website here:  www.sophiebelltherapy.com
